TRAILDOG's first event was back in 2019; after a break due to covid, we returned bigger and better in 2021. I (Katie) created TRAILDOG in order to offer canicross events in the North East that are professionally organised but with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere (mostly due to my Mam and Anne's warm welcome at registration!).

With extensive experience in organising mass participation events in my 7 years at The Great Run Company, I always aim to offer that big event feel at our events, but in a smaller, more intimate version. All the organisation, prep, graphics, web design, medal designs, route design, social media, etc is done by myself. My family and friends help on the event weekends and I have the added bonus of a creative minded partner who also takes amazing photographs (and doesn't mind the constant brainstorming of new ideas).

Between us we have 4 traildogs of our own; Darcy the ever reliable and unassuming labrador x wire-haired vizsla, Timmy the lovable but rogue Cypriot pointer, Fraser the handsome mammy's boy Dalmatian and Pippa the energetic and too clever for her own good collie.

When I'm not organising, delivering or thinking about TRAILDOG (or walking my dogs!), I'm a wholetime firefighter in Northumberland.
