These terms and conditions cover any event by TRAILDOG Events and will hereafter be called “the event”.
By registering to take part in the event you are agreeing to the following conditions of entry and any instructions given to you by the organisers and marshals before, during or after the event.
– For any event other than the Wolfpack Family run, you must be at least 16 years of age on the date of the event to take part.
– A maximum of 2 dogs per person are allowed to run in the event.
– The Wolfpack Family Run is for families to run in a group with their dog, there is no minimum age for this. However one entrant must be at least 18 years of age on the date of the event to take part. Please be mindful that events are organised on trails so may not be suitable for pushchairs.
– You will pay the TRAILDOG Events non-refundable registration fee when registering. The registration fee is set out on the website traildogevents.co.uk. Your place is not secured until this fee is received.
– You are responsible for ensuring that both you and your dog have the appropriate level of fitness to participate in the event. You are strongly advised to consult a doctor/vet before undertaking any strenuous exercise or training programme, or participating in the event.
– You are taking part in the event at your own risk. The organisers (TRAILDOG Events) will have no responsibility for any risk, loss or costs which you incur in connection with the event and you will indemnify the organisers and any persons acting on their behalf for any risk, damages, loss or costs arising as a result of your participation in the event. TRAILDOG Events holds public liability for the event, but it is up to the participant to have insurance cover themselves and their dog for participating in an event. It is your responsibility to obtain any necessary personal insurance in connection with the event.
– Prior to and during the event you will be responsible for yours and your dog’s safety, you will take all reasonable care to ensure the safety of other participants/spectators and you will comply promptly with all instructions and guidelines given by the organisers and any persons acting on their behalf. You must not deviate from the official route which will be marked with the event signage from start to finish. There will be marshals located on the route and all volunteers and staff involved in the event will be clearly identifiable.
– Participating dogs must be well socialised and have previously displayed no signs of aggression. In the event of participating with a reactive dog, please ensure your dog is wearing a Baskerville type muzzle which doesn't affect breathing.
– Dogs participating in the adult event must be at least one years of age at the time of the event, be fit and healthy, willing and able to complete the course, not in season and fully vaccinated.
– Canicross or Y-shaped harnesses are advised. Slip leads or choke chains are not permitted whilst running.
– Water will be provided at the half way point on the longer course for both humans and dogs. Please consider your dogs own requirements and carry water if you think this is needed.
– Please consider your dog’s age, ability and breed before registering. Contact your vet for advice if you are unsure.
– Basket muzzles are permitted. We do not recommend using any muzzle that restricts the dogs ability to breath, pant or drink.
– Some events will have a route which follows and/or crosses a road, all participants must follow the event organiser’s route directions and requests at all times.
– All participants will be given an event identification number at registration, which must be displayed for identification at all times.
– If you retire from the event you must inform the marshals or call the race director. This is particularly important as otherwise we will come looking for you which may cause undue panic.
– The event finish will stay open until the last runner is back. Walking is permitted.
– The organisers reserve the right to terminate an individual’s participation on health and safety grounds. The event will only be cancelled, rerouted or stopped for reasons of safety. An alternative date will be provided, entry fees, however, are not refundable.
– In the course of registering and participating in the event we will collect personal data from you. We may process and use the personal data collected for administrative, research and publicity purposes. You are entitled to request access to, and correction of, all personal data collected by us, as well as requiring us to delete your data if you no longer wish us to process it after having taken part in the event. To make such a request, please e-mail us at: info@traildogevents.co.uk. We will never pass your data to a third party.
– Photos taken during the event by our official photographer(s) may be used in the event marketing literature.
– The event organiser, TRAILDOG Events, may also use your details to send you information about future events which we think may be of interest to you.
– Deferrals/refunds – Entries are non refundable. If you can no longer take part in the event, please inform us ASAP. We will be able to transfer your entry to another person (please note t-shirt sizes will be unable to be amended) up until 7 days prior to the event you are registered for. After this time, no transfers will be available.
– I understand and accept the attached Event Regulations and will participate entirely of my own free will.
Medical
– In the event of an accident or illness whilst taking part in this event, I hereby give permission for the event medical staff to initiate medical treatment and to inform my Next of Kin in case of hospitalisation.
– To the best of my knowledge I submit a true and accurate description of my medical history and current condition. I understand that I am taking part in an event in a remote and rural location where there will be a longer medical response time in the event of emergency. I agree to take part in this event at my own risk and will not hold TRAILDOG Events or their chosen medical provider responsible in the event of acute illness, injury or death.
– Participants must agree to inform TRAILDOG Events of any medical or other condition that might affect their ability to take part in the event. These details will be shared with event medical staff.
